Strike in Balochistan against Pakistani PM’s visit

Post  Bolan on Sun Nov 11, 2012 8:17 pm

A complete shutter-down protest was observed in district Kech in Balochistan during Pakistani Prime Minister’s visit to Gawadar on Friday. The Baloch National Movement, a political party striving for freedom of Balochistan, had given the call for strike.

Strike was also observed in Turbat, Thump, Hoshaab, Buleda, Awaran and Surbandar towns of Balochistan. The government offices, schools, banks and businesses were closed during Pakistani PM’s visit to Gawadar Balochistan.

The Baloch National Movement said the protest was a clear message of Baloch people’s dislike for occupation and slavery. “The Baloch nation wants to see the end of 65 years of occupation of their motherland”, said the BNM spokesperson.

The strike was peaceful and no unpleasant incidents have been reported in any town.
